Why should armageddon have such a needlessly long cooldown compared to hurricane? Why should you need 100 skill points to max the tree instead of segregating molten boulder? That sort of stuff.

It could very easily become oppressive and you'd have volcano be a OHKO namelock skill and fissure make blessed hammer look tame.īut there are shortcomings for fire druids that could easily be buffed and improve the game. Make volcano deal so much damage it puts people into FHR on its own. What would happen if we actually got what people wanted and buff fire druids out the ass? Remove cooldowns. When you spam firestorm at point blank range, the overlapping fire trails shotgun bosses for extremely high dps. When you've got 20k armageddon, you kill enemy players in 1 hit. When you've got a 6.8k fissure with -75% resists, you obliterate mobs in PvM and hose people effectively in PvP alike. Fissure is already an amazing skill that does some things better, some things worse than Blizzard. They have plenty of PvM and PvP applications that are competent or good builds. People keep pointing to druid fire skills. Just reading a lot of suggestions shows how common ideas are based less on actual game balance and mechanics and more on perceptions.

Its that poorly thought-through changes could make things worse, and this sub is absolutely overflowing with poorly thought-through changes. Its not that it couldn't be improved- it absolutely could.

And the more you mess with some skills here and there, buff this, nerf that, the more you risk upsetting that balance. Diablo II has a reasonably balanced metagame, especially in PvP, which is something pretty exceptional given how little intention went into it in the first place.
